At Ls The Ranch, we have been providing young people with the values and skills they need to become exceptional community leaders. We pride ourselves on our five core values: Safety, Education, Therapy, Responsibility, and Extracurricular.
The Ranch Values
Safety
Child safety is of utmost importance. So many childhood deaths, injuries, and accidents are preventable. Injuries due to unsafe environments are the #1 killer of children and teens in the United States. In 2009, more than 9,000 youth aged 0-17 died from unintentional injuries in the United States. At The Ranch, kids find a safe and supportive environment they need to thrive. A place where a child can be a child. Where they can focus on building their futures, free from worry about gangs, violence, or any type of abuse.
Education
Our young people are years behind in school when they enter our care. That’s why a primary focus of our work is helping children overcome academic achievement gaps and encouraging success in the classroom. We focus on the basics: Math and Reading Enrichment. Daily tutoring helps our kids to catch up in school and to graduate from high school prepared for their next step.
Therapy
Therapy helps our youth understand the root cause of their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, and gives adolescents the tools to make beneficial changes to help them feel and function better. We offer young people other types of therapy, ranging from grief groups and pets to music and art therapy and therapeutic yoga. The different counseling helps teens work through issues and empowers them to use what they learn to find solutions to the issues they face.
Responsibility
An individual with a highly developed sense of personal responsibility is more likely to succeed in school, in the workplace, and society at large. Having a sense of responsibility is a quality that shows up in every area of life. People who are responsible do what they say they're going to do. That is why here at the Ranch we find it important to implement- responsibility by giving daily chores and having room checks.
Extracurriculars
The Ranch offers FUN! character-building and culturally enriching learning opportunities that encourage the personal growth and development of young people.
