About the Role
A Life Coach must be 21 years of age or older, have a valid driver’s license, and successfully
pass a criminal check (BCII and FBI) and the Ohio Alleged Perpetrator and National Sex
Offender Registry searches.
The Life Coach may be assigned to work in the group home (The Ranch) or with the youth living
in scattered independent living apartments operated by The Louise Shropshire Corporation. The
Life Coach is the contact for all youth in placement and is responsible for the care and
supervision of youth.
Requirements
Duties
The Life Coach will:
Provide care and supervision to youth in scattered living sites as outlined in the youth’s case plan and instructed by the youth’s custodian
Provide care and supervision to youth placed in The Ranch
Enforce all policies and procedures, the Resident and Family Handbook, and the
Independent Living Handbook
Assist in meal planning and preparation
Transport youth as needed to work, school, visits, and medical appointments
Assist in monitoring youth in maintaining a clean-living environment
Dispense medication prescribed to the youth
Work with youth on independent living skills and independence
Assist youth with schoolwork
Attend staff meetings
Participate in youth meetings as invited
Schedule medical, dental and optical appointments
Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the director, or designee.
Training
The Life Coach must complete all training outlined by the director or program director. Twenty hours of initial orientation within the first 30 days of employment and additional 32 hours of training within the first year of employment. Life Coach’s must obtain First Aid/CPR training and maintain a current certificate.
